Fr E-Dey-Work takes another bold step in his service to humanity, moves to lift Youths out of ignorance and poverty

The Joy of hundreds of Mbaise youths from all walks of life knew no bounds as they gathered on Sunday, 22/6/25 at Eziala Nguru Town Hall, Aboh Mbaise Local government area, Imo State, to drink from the fountain of knowledge in an interactive session organized by the President and Spiritual Director Canaanland Adoration ministries, A. K. A, E-Dey-Work , Rev. Fr. Dr. Magnus Okechukwu Ebere, SDV.

The get together, the first of its kind in Mbaise Nation is a direct response by Fr. Ebere popularly known as Fr. E-Dey-Work to the prevalence of decadence among Youths and their neglect by the powers that be who have tried to make them unnecessarily dependent on handouts and infusing in their thoughts that they cannot make it without them.

The event that witnessed a massive turnout that saw the hall filled to the brim and overflowing to canopies mounted outside was a clear indication that Youths are eager to break barriers and succeed.

Addressing the highly elated Youths that intermittently applauded his teachings, the outspoken Catholic Priest who spoke on the theme “on my way to the top” charged them to seek knowledge in order to excel in the modern world of science and technology.

Fr. E-Dey-Work while assuring them that it is a new dawn for Mbaise Youths, reminded them of the need to be reliant only on God instead of humans and made it clear that with knowledge nobody can look down on them.

Fr. E-Dey-Work recalled how he obeyed God by establishing the Ministry in Mbaise after beginning from Nnobi, Anambra State, informed the Youths that the best way to get to the top is by climbing instead of flying.

“You don’t fly to the top but you climb to the top. If you fly to the top, you will crash so quickly.

“Many who flew to the top in the ’90s’ have crashed. There’s a ladder that takes every man/ woman to the top.

“Anything you gather without labour will scatter so easily. Nothing good comes easy,” the priest emphasized.

While enjoining them not to despise their little beginning in all their endeavours, Fr Ebere challenged them to imbibe the spirit of responsibility by being accountable, reliable and dependable in their dealings with others for a successful living.

According to him, ” there are opportunities everywhere but there are few reliable people.”

Fr E-Dey-Work vowed to lead Mbaise Youths out of poverty by teaching them how to fish instead of giving them fish, and prophesied a better future for the people and the area.

Speaking with Hanto Daily News at the gathering, some of the participants including, Ugochukwu Achinonu and Okwudiri Oluebube who expressed Joy at the historic event which is the first of its kind in Mbaise Nation, thanked God for the gift of Rev. Fr. Dr Magnus Ebere, who they say has brought light to Mbaise.

They commended him for putting the event together and assured that they will abide by the teachings delivered to them to enable them become good Ambassadors of the people.

In their contributions, Vivian Unaegbu and Chiamaka Osuagwu lauded the wisdom of Fr. Ebere in organizing the event and made it clear this will redirect many already going astray.

They however appealed to the Church, Political office holders, well-to-do Mbaise people, organizations and Government to join Fr. E-Dey-Work in the move to take the Youths to greater heights.

The next edition of the programme will hold on the 29 July, 2025 and as gathered by Hanto Daily News , the programme has already started receiving the support of the people.
