Father of newborn triplets named first daughter after Gov Eno’s Aide

The father of newborn triplets, Mr. Solomon Thompson, has named his first daughter and one of the triplets, ‘Idara’, after the Special Assistant/Chief Photographer to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Idara Adiakpan, for her compassionate gesture towards his family in their moment of travail.

Thompson disclosed this during the christening of their children held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at their residence in Ikot Udota, Eket in Eket Local Government Area.

He named the first daughter ‘Idara’ Dominion Solomon Thompson, while the other two were named ‘Nsikan Abasi’ Divine Solomon Thompson and ‘Abasi Anam’ Diamond Solomon Thompson, respectively.

An excited Thompson, said he is grateful to God for touching the heart of Idara Adiakpan to come to their rescue when all hope of leaving the hospital after delivery for over a week and few days proved abortive.

“God works in a mysterious way. We were losing hope after I and my wife have reached out to all the people we know but help was not forthcoming. We sent messages through text and Whatsapp, and even made calls to some of the people that my wife has known personally and served them while working in the lab, but they will read the messages and ignored. We were confused and worried.

“We were helpless, hence decided to put the information on social media, soliciting for assistance and few persons responded, before God directed Idara Adiakpan to wipe the shame from our faces. She didn’t only cleared the hospital bill, but offered us cash gift and toiletries. She also directed the hospital to refund the N70,000 we deposited the previous night that was contributed by few concerned individuals.

“I and my wife are very grateful to God for using Idara to change our story. God will continue to bless her and bless Governor Umo Eno who gave her the appointment. Because without the Governor, Idara wouldn’t have gotten the money to pay for my wife’s delivery. God will lift her to higher position in life to continue with her humanitarian services.

Speaking further, Thompson said though the blessing is coming with mixed feelings, but he cannot question the handwork of God, as He does His things beyond human comprehension.

“These children are blessings to my family and I am grateful to God for His benevolence. But they came at a time that the work I was doing, the contract has finished and their mother, my wife couldn’t continue with her lab work because of this pregnancy. Feeding a child in today’s economy is not an easy task, how much more three children in a family that both parents are not working.

“There is no need to pretend, it is an herculean task but I hope that God is still in the business of doing the miraculous. I want to use this medium to again call on people in position of authority, philanthropists, public spirited individuals and NGOs to come to our rescue. We will be pleased to be supported in any way to raise these children to become productive members of the society. God bless all who will heed to our call for assistance.

Lending her voice, the wife of Thompson and mother of the triplets, Mrs Idaraesit Thompson, said God has embarrassed her family with the triplets, saying what billionaires are looking for with their money, God gave them on a platter of gold, expressing her appreciation to Idara Adiakpan for not abandoning them in the hospital, but came when they least expected. She prayed God to reward her accordingly.

She thanked the Governor for having such a young fellow who imitate her boss by touching life positively, maintaining that God will lift Idara to an enviable height that will exceed her expectations.

Recall Idara Adiakpan cleared the hospital bill of Mrs. Thompson when she delivered triplets through caesarean at Romivic Specialists Hospital in Eket when the parents couldn’t meet up with the delivery bills. She also ordered for the hospital to refund the deposit of N70,000 they deposited earlier to the hospital and gave them cash gift. Idara was represented by Mrs. Inyene Johnie.
