The Abia State House of Assembly during Plenary, Wednesday, entertained the Consideration of the Report of the Joint Committee of Security and Boundary, Public Petitions and Judiciary on HAB 13, a Bill for a Law to Establish the Abia State Homeland Security Agency.
www.newsadmiral.com gathered that the Bill, when enacted into Law, seeks to assist and support the Federal Law Enforcement Agencies in maintaining Law and Order in Abia State and for other related purposes.
In the Committee of the Whole, recommendations of same HAB 13 were adopted alongside that of the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on Petitions against imposition of new traditional ruler in Ugwuele Autonomous Community, Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area and denial of Pa Chief Emmanuel Nwafor’s rights.
Also during Plenary, Notice of Motion HAM 24, Motion to Urge the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company EEDC to Improve Power Supply in Abia State and to check the outrageous billing system being administered by the Company in Abia State was heard, as Members were put on notice to study same in readiness to make their contributions in a future Legislative date.
