The Abia State House of Assembly football team, the #LegiSquad trounced the State Executive Council team wholesomely by 3 goals to nothing, in a novelty match marking the 32nd Anniversary of the creation of Abia State.
The #LegiSquad, captained by the trojan Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Augustine Okezie dictated the pace of the game from the blast of the whistle to the end displayed soccer artistry to the administration of Abia First Lady, Mrs Priscilla Otti and other soccer fans who were present.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu and the Commissioner for Sports, Mr Nwaobilor Nwadinma Ananaba who captained the State Executive Council team showed flashes of skills with Hon Kingsley Anosike, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, being the standout player for the State Executive Council team.
The spectators adjudged Hon Isienyi Boniface of Ikwuano State Constituency as Man of the Match while Hon Chinasa Anthony Abiola, Member, Umuahia Central State Constituency the #LegiSquad safe hands was the cynosure of all eyes.
Okezie Chijioke, the PASAN Warlord, in a cameo performance scored two of the three goals while Man Russia Irobunda scored the curtain raiser.
The novelty match was a show of camaraderie, sportsmanship and comradeship highlighting the spring of synergy between the Executive and the Legislature.
