AKANIYENE TOMMEY’S EDGING POLITICAL SPOTLIGHT
It is unarguable that the Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Eket Local Government, Mr Akaniyene Tommey is a rising political star within and beyond Akwa Ibom political sphere.
Recently, the Political Silk, was honoured by the Executive Chairman of Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal, to commission the newly constructed/upgraded road at Bayo Kuku street in Ikoyi, Lagos State, in company of the Director General/CEO of SMEDAN, Charles Odii.
His steady rising through the ranks, earning the admiration and respect of both the elders and the youths, women alike, edges him into the political spotlight. He is a shining example for the youths and a symbol of unity, as he was described during the stakeholders’ meeting of the party, adopting him as a Sole Candidate.
His emergence as a consensus candidate of the party and the subsequent endorsements for reelection across the party, accounts for the public confidence reposed on his leadership. His tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed, and he has become a beacon of hope for many.
As a dedicated leader with a vision for a better future, Tommey has been at the forefront of community issues and transforming lives. As a Councillor who represented Ward 2 Central, he sponsored skills training, renovated primary school blocks, and empowered women.
Not relenting his passion for community development, after being sworn-in as Executive Chairman in his first term, he smacked the ground, giving a facelift to the deplorable state of internal roads in Eket and grading of rural roads. One of his masterpiece projects is the expensive and magnificent Eket Unity Hall.
