AKWA IBOM STATE GOVT. COMMENCES BURSARY PAYMENT FOR 2024/25 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced the payment of bursary to students of Akwa Ibom origin studying in public tertiary institutions in the country for the 2024/2025 academic year.
This was disclosed by the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Afffairs, Comrade Wisdom Emmanuel, on Monday, February 10, 2025.
The Governor’s aide explained that Governor Umo Eno has made a 100% increase to this year’s bursary from ₦10,000.00, which was paid to eligible students last year, to ₦20,000.00 this year, while students pursuing professional courses such as medicine, law, engineering, agriculture, education, etc., will receive ₦30,000 each this time around.
He emphasised that the government has made the bursary payment process seamless and free of charge, as all that is required of students is for them to visit the state bursary portal at https://bursary.akwaibomstate.gov.ng/login to register, urging them to beware of scammers.
“The registration process is completely free and can be completed on your mobile device. No fees, levies, or dues are required at any stage. Do not fall prey to scammers,” he stated.
Comrade Emmanuel thanked his boss, Governor Umo Eno, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of students, assuring him of their unending loyalty and support.
