ALEX OTTI WOMEN IN POLITICS, HONOURS AIR VICE MARSHAL CHINWENDU ONYIKE fdc (Rtd), MAYOR ISUIKWUATO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
Alex Otti women in politics, Isuikwuato LGA chapter led by Hon.(Mrs) B.U. Ahia (aka High Tension) a notable woman leader in ISUIKWUATO nay Abia State led the above group to pay a courtesy visit to the Mayor in his country home at Umuajala Umuebereja, Eluama.
In her opening remarks Mrs B.U Ahia told the Mayor that after her group’s meeting at Ndubuisi Kanu Square they made a brief tour of the LG headquarters where they saw a lot of changes and construction works going on.
She on behalf of her group appreciated the good work the Mayor is doing while admonishing him as a mother to remain resolute, focused and committed to the good work he is doing for the local government. She went further to advise the Mayor to ignore gossips to avoid been distracted while assuring him the total support of Alex Otti women in politics in particular and Isuikwuato LGA women generally.
In his response, the Mayor appreciated the Alex Otti women in politics for taking time out of their very tight schedule to visit him. He assured them of his resolve and commitment to prioritise issues of women and youths on his agenda as long as he remains the Mayor. He said their interest will be secured and protected at all times hence he has approved the appointment of a Special Assistant for Women and Youths Affairs.
The highpoint of the occasion was the investiture and appointment of the Mayor as the group’s PATRON. While performing the function, Hon.(Mrs) B.U. Ahia (aka High Tension) informed the Mayor that his choice as a PATRON was a result of his love and appreciation for the needs of Women, Children and the Youths in the society.
The Mayor once again appreciated the Alex Otti women in politics for their coming and the honour bestowed on him; saying he feels more encouraged and motivated to even do more with an assurance that he will not disappoint them.
