AS GOV ENO EMPOWERS MORE TRADERS, ENTREPRENEURS TODAY

In furtherance of his administration’s commitment to economic empowerment, Governor Umo Eno is set to empower more traders and entrepreneurs in Akwa Ibom State today 6, February, 2025.
The event, which is part of Governor Eno’s efforts to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and reduce poverty, will benefit hundreds of traders and entrepreneurs, who will receive grants, equipment, and other forms of support to boost their businesses.
Tagged, “ARISE Happy Hour” from top-performing civil servants to innovative home farmers and young entrepreneurs, over 500 individuals will receive grants and prizes which is expected to catalyze economic activity, stimulate innovation, and create new opportunities for Akwa Ibom residents.
Since assumption of Office on 29 May, 2023, Governor Eno has shown strong commitment to empowering traders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners through various initiatives including the Ibom-LED, which has already benefited over 1,200 of Akwa Ibom citizens.
So far, 800 entrepreneurs who graduated from Ibom-LED have already received their 500,000 naira business support grant each to boost their businesses by the Governor.
And the prospective beneficiaries are 400 female youths who recently graduated from the program will today be given 500,000 naira each for business capital plus 250,000 naira for renting of shops which will have a multiplier effect thereby reducing unemployment.
In addition to Ibom-LED, 200 youths selected across the state are undergoing free training at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC), in Ikot Ada Idem, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area with a monthly transport allowance of ₦20,000 per person throughout the training duration in various courses.
As a businessman with sound management skills in the hospitality sector, he understands that a prosperous society depends on creating a business-friendly environment, reason why he is not playing politics with governance but rather working to connect the dots and create a prosperous and inclusive economy.
With today’s empowerment, Akwa Ibom is on the cusp of a new era of economic growth and development, and Governor Eno’s administration is poised to leave an indelible mark on the state’s economic landscape.
