COMMISSIONER FRANK ARCHIBONG PARLEYS LEADERS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
…Calls For Synergy To Propagate The Arise Agenda
Leaders of the Local Government Legislative Councils in Akwa Ibom State have been enjoined to work harmoniously with the State Government, their respective Executive Councils and other stakeholders to propagate the Arise Agenda for seamless dispensation of democratic dividends to the people.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong gave the charge during an interactive meeting with Forum of Leaders of Local Government Councils in the State which took place on Tuesday in Uyo, the State capital.
Mkpisong Archibong who asserted that Council Leaders are integral part of the Arise Agenda, said the engagement was to straighten rough edges,discuss their challenges with the view to proffering solutions.
He assured the Councillors that their requests would be given the needed attention going forward, harping on the need for their unflinching loyalty and continued support to Governor Umo Eno and his Arise Agenda at all times, averring that “the success of Pastor Umo Eno is your own success”.
In their separate remarks, members of the Forum from each of the three Senatorial districts of Akwa Ibom State; Rt. Hon Sunday Bassey, Uruan South 2, Hon Ndifreke, Esit Eket and Rt. Hon Isonguyo Sunday, Ika, used the medium to thank the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his efforts to strengthen the Local Government system, pledging their resolve to stand by the Governor at all times.
They also lauded the Commissioner, Frank Archibong for initiating an avenue to interface with them, describing the gesture as rewarding and a welcome development.
The Council Leaders however solicited more support from the State Government for enhanced service delivery.
Present were the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Edet Etukudo and Council Leaders from all the 31 Local Government Areas.
