Dr. Anieti Udofia assumes Office in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism

Dr. Anieti Udofia, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Akwa Ibom officially assumed office today, Tuesday 25, 2025 at the Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat in Uyo.
The Honourable Commissioner was given a rousing reception by the Management and Staff members of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Grace Akpan, who also did the official handing over to the Commissioner.
Dr. Udofia, in his speech, appreciated the Management and Staff for the warm welcome accorded him, noting that it was a sign of a promising working relationship that would birth significant milestones in the Ministry and the State.
He charged them to be more dedicated to their duties and to maintain good work ethics, adding that he is aware that motivation can spur productivity in workers.
I am very excited to be here, I thank you all for this show of love and support. As a person, I believe in hard work and diligence, which has been my fuel to success in any given task I find myself.
“I am also aware that the reward for hard work is more work, but I believe it comes with fulfilment. I cannot also negate the place of motivation in service. We will ensure that you remain happy to be able to carry out your duties diligently, because a happy worker is a productive worker,” he stressed.
Dr. Udofia also expressed his readiness to work in line with the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno in achieving development as as encapsulated in well-spelt plans of the Governor.
Reacting on behalf of the staff members, the Chaplain of the Ministry, Mr. Bassey Nathaniel, expressed satisfaction with the posting of Dr. Udofia to the Ministry by the State Governor, pledging to work together in understanding to bring about positive and impactful changes in the Ministry and the State.
Present on the day were Director of Culture-Mrs Comfort Anwana, Director of Tourism-Mrs Christie Eno, and Head of Planning, Research and Statistics, Imoh Moffat, Mr. John Ofonmbuk-Head of Marketing and Logistics, Mr. Onofiok Nya Onofiok- Accountant, Director of Administration- Mr. Mfon Udoakang, and Director of Arts-Dr. Iniobong Udotong amongst over 100 staff members of the Ministry.
