EARCOM lauds Umo Eno for Inclusive Government

… tasks civil servants on patriotic stewardship

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has been lauded for his inclusive approach to governance which prioritises the welfare of the people, fosters economic growth, and ensures that the state remains a beacon of hope and prosperity for all citizens irrespective of political persuasion.

Speaking as a guest on the current affairs programme, Arise Akwa Ibom, on Inspiration 105.9 fm, Uyo on Wednesday, a
Commissioner on the Governing Board of the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, Hon. Goodnews Ediene said, the Commission fully endorses the governors’ effort to unite the State after a keenly contested elections in 2023 and his adopted bipartisanship towards solving the State’s problems.

Hon. Ediene commended Governor Umo Eno on his style of governance, for inspiring every Akwa Ibom person to think of governance and development instead of party A, B, or C, and playing opposition without seeing any good in what political officeholders are doing because of not belonging to their political party.

While observing that the Governor’s proactive nature has engendered peace, unity and progress in the polity, Hon. Ediene also admonished those in both public and civil service to work as if they are being monitored, even when they’re not, because they don’t know who is watching, and where recommendation can come from for a bigger responsibility tomorrow.

EARCOM, he said, will continue to advocate for civil servants to imbibe the spirit of patriotic stewardship so they can help translate government policies and programmes in line with the ARISE Agenda to reality and consolidate sustainable development in the State.
