ESIT EKET 2024: UDUAK IKOT GETS WOMEN STAKEHOLDERS ENDORSEMENT

In their desire for a peaceful, united and prosperous Esit Eket Local Government, Women stakeholders in the area have adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, Mrs. Uduak Ikemesit Ikot, as their preferred choice to take over from the incumbent chairman, Mr. Iniobong Robson.
They urged all women and electorate from the LGA to vote Mrs. Uduak Ikot, in the forthcoming council election for the Chairmanship position, stating that her wealth of experience in leadership, readiness to serve and commitment to women’s welfare and passion for development makes her stand out bold in their assessment.
Speaking during a meeting with the chairmanship candidate at her residence on Sunday, President of the forum, Obonganwan Grace Ikot, thanked the State Chief Executive, Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his fatherly role, being a gender friendly leader and incorporating women in the affairs of government and governance.
“Mrs. Uduak Ikot’s adoption by Esit Eket women stakeholders is anchored on her past record, passion and commitment to women’s welfare which we are convinced she will sustain, bring about positive impact and improved on the lives of the women in the rural communities”.
Responding, Mrs. Uduak Ikot, whom until her emergence as the PDP chairmanship flag bearer in Esit Eket, was the Financial Secretary of the women’s forum, appreciated them for having confidence and trust that she will deliver.
She thanked the Governor for the opportunity granted her and other female candidates while, reassuring of her commitment to women empowerment, capacity building and inclusivity.
“Our women won’t regret voting for PDP, our performing Governor, pastor Umo Eno has not failed us; as a mother, I understand your position and I will not disappoint you. I will renovate the women development center, put it to effective use, provide a functional office for Esit Eket women stakeholders and our women will be significantly empowered for the benefit of our LGA”. Uduak stated.
The highpoint was presentation of a Bible as gift and cash support to the chairmanship candidate.
