ESIT EKET LGC COMMISERATES WITH VC OVER WIFE’S DEMISE
Esit Eket Local Government Council, led by Chairman Hon. Mrs. Uduak Ikemesit Ikot, commiserated with the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Elder Eddy Etangkanga over the painful exit of his wife, Late Mrs. Lucy Eddy Etangkanga.
In an opening remark, the Council Secretary, Comrade Godwin Elijah informed the VC that the visit was the directive of the Council Chairman, to console the bereaved family in their moment of grief, in accordance with scriptures which admonishes Christians not to mourn like those who have no hope.
During the visit, the Council Boss described the late Lucy as a woman of peace, who lived an exemplary life, worthy of emulation, adding that the local government council and Esit Eket stakeholders take comfort in the belief that she has gone to be with the Almighty, having lived a righteous life.
In his response, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Elder Eddy Etangkanga appreciated the Chairman and the entire local government council for the gesture which he described as Godly.
“My wife has gone to be with the Lord and as a family, we are very strong. My Chairman, you are a blessing to me and Esit Eket at large; and I bless God for sending you to Esit Eket”, the VC added.
Special intercessory prayer was offered to the VC’s family, for divine protection and strengthen in the days ahead, as they plan the funeral.
The visit witnessed the presence of the Leader of Council, Hon. Ndifreke Etieket, Deputy Leader, Hon. Michael Alfred, Head of Service, Elder Udo Edemeka, Former Leader of Council, Hon. Brighten Maxwell, Directors of Ministries and Departments, Councillors, PAs to the Governor, Local Government Stakeholders, amongst others.
