Ex GOV EMMANUEL, OTHERS CONDOLE EX FEDERAL MINISTER NDUESE ESSIEN ON WIFE’S DEATH
Warmth, hope and love took the center stage when the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel,CON, paid a condolence visit to the former Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Chief Nduese Essien at his home in Eket.
Mr Emmanuel, represented by a powerful delegation of his kinsmen from Onna local government area, harped on the outstanding attributes of the departed wife of the former Minister of Lands and Housing, urging God to strengthen him and his family.
The team led by former House of Representatives member and member of PDP board of trustees, Otuekong Pat Ifon, expressed the regret of the former Governor, who was not present because of engagements outside the country.
“Your late wife was also a mother to the immediate past Governor and he is deeply saddened by her passing.
“We pray that God will console and strengthen you”, the emissaries prayed.
Chief Nduese Essien who appreciated the immediate past Governor for his support and encouragement, said the demise of his wife has shown him how dearly he was loved.
He said their union which had lasted for over 57 years, did not give him opportunity to learn how to do without his late wife, and that her passing had not been a pleasant experience.
He described his late wife as a committed wife and woman of God who served God faithfully with all her heart, and maintained that despite all efforts to keep her alive, God decided to admit her to eternal rest.
The former federal lawmaker also appreciated the members of the delegation which also had the Chairman of Onna, member of the Onna State House of Assembly, serving and former political office holders from the area, among others.
Other groups that visited the former Minister included the Ahmadu Bello University Alumni, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Esop Mbong Eket, among others.
