Family Announces Death, Funeral Arrangements of Late Prince Maurice Edoho

Idung Uya family has officially announced the passing of the late Prince Maurice Edoho-JP and subsequent funeral arrangements.

According to the statement released by the family and made available to the Press, late Prince Maurice Edoho, slept in the Lord on 5th March 2025, at the age of 86, and is survived by children and grandchildren.

The statement disclosed that the funeral ceremonies would begin with the Opening of Mourning House on Sunday, 11th May 2025, at the deceased compound, Idung Uya Ntak Inyang, Esit Eket LGA, followed with Condolence Visits by family, friends, associates, and sympathizers, from Monday 12th to Thursday 15th May, 2025.

The Vigil Mass is to be held on Friday, 16th May 2025, at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, Ntak Inyang, Esit Eket LGA, while Friends’ Night will follow immediately after the Vigil Mass at the Deceased Compound.

The statement further disclosed that the Funeral and Thanksgiving Mass of the late Sage will be held on Saturday 17th May 2025, at St. Theresa’s Primary School, Ntak Inyang in Esit Eket LGA at 10 AM, and will be conducted strictly in line with the Catholic tradition and customs.

The father of Utitofon Edoho (Zone C Political Leader), was a teacher, historian, disciplinarian, and indeed, an encyclopedia of knowledge who abhorred injustice of any sort and could go to any length to get justice for his rights. He was a core community man whose irreplaceable loss in Idung Uya dynasty, Ntak Inyang as a community, and indeed, Esit Eket LGA will be greatly felt and missed.
