GOV. UMO ENO AND HIS FIRST ELEVEN
Since His Excellency Pst Umo Eno PhD made the proverbial first 11 statement concerning the nomination list of the Commissioners that will interprete and implement the policy thrust (ARISE AGENDA) of his administration, being a footballer in my heydays (captain of my High School Football team and my University football team as well), my mind went to work owning to the fact that I had a clear understanding of what that expression meant. I’m pretty sure that I wasn’t alone in that spiritual pilgrimage of thoughts, many quarters in Akwa Ibom State’s political hemisphere remained dampened with expectations as well. The reasons are not far fetched, for folks who are hooked to the game of football, they understood the intelligent application of figure of speech by the occupier of the HillTop Mansion.

In soccer, the first 11 define the team’s destiny. They embody strategy, resilience, and the spirit of collective ambition. Their synchronized movements, tactical brilliance, and unwavering determination set the tone, transforming passion into artistry. Their unity is the heartbeat, inspiring devoted fans and shaping every match’s unforgettable narrative with conviction. They are not only considered the strongest team but the winning team.

Creating a winning soccer team isn’t about a single element; it’s about building a cohesive system where every part supports the others, amongst the many indices required, integrating fresh talent into a football squad is not only important but utterly dicey. This move revitalizes the team by introducing innovative tactics, heightened energy, and new perspectives on the game. However, retaining experienced veterans, or “old warhorses,” ensures valuable leadership, stability, and historical knowledge. This balanced infusion of youth and experience creates a dynamic environment, where strategic innovation meets reliable performance, ultimately leading to consistent victories and predictable success on the field, and hitherto fueling dreams for future championship triumphs.
