GOVERNOR UMO ENO’S AIDE, MFON BASSEY REWARD SUPPORTERS
… charges scholarship students on good conduct
In a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, Comrade Mfon Bassey, Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Media, has rewarded his supporters inline with the Governor’s compassionate lifestyle and love for humanity.
Comrade Mfon Bassey paid a surprise visit to PDP faithfuls in his village at Danish resorts Idua Eket LGA on Friday 14 February, 2025.
During the visitation, the Governor’s aide splashed cash gifts to selected party faithfuls as monthly stipends to support them in their daily engagements.
He also visited Holy Child Community Secondary School, Idua and cleared tuition fees to Master Holy Godwin Brownson and Miss Miriam Samuel Udoh who are currently benefitting from MFON BASSEY’S SCHOLARSHIP scheme.
According to Comrade Mfon Unwana, Master Holy Brownson, an SS2 student of the School was enrolled into the scholarship scheme in 2021 while in JSS 2 and Miss Miriam Samuel currently in JSS 2 started in 2023 while in JSS1.
Bassey, charged the students to make good use of the scholarship award and become good ambassadors of Eket LGA, Akwa Ibom and Nigeria.
Comrade Bassey who is a peace ambassador, urged the beneficiaries to shun cultism and other social vices capable of truncating their vision and aspirations.
As a core PDP supporter and loyal servant to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Mfon Bassey who is widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts and care for his Community, stated that his actions are in line with Governor Umo Eno’s vision of empowering the grassroots.
“I firmly believe that kindness goes a long way in making people happy. As an aide to the Governor, my role is to project the Governor’s image, and also to ensure that peoples lives are improved. As long as I receive my monthly salary from the Governor, I will continue to share my blessings with you,” he said.
Mfon Bassey further emphasized that his monthly gatherings with the community will soon extend to the ward level. “Charity begins at home, and I have started this initiative in my village.
My goal is to continuously make a positive impact on people’s lives,” he added.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Elder Bassey Etukakpan thanked Mr Mfon Bassey for his constant generosity and for always giving back to his people
“Your actions today align with the Governor’s vision, the Arise Agenda.
We thank the Governor for appointing you as his aide, as you have positively impacted the lives of common people in our community.
“Your monthly gatherings with us, where you generously share your time and money, are truly appreciated.
We pray that God will continue to bless you, and you will continue to soar to greater heights,” he said.
The PDP Ward 1 Urban Chairman, Mr. Paul Akata, Mr. Ekong Udia, PDP Chapter officer and others who spoke during the meeting also eulogized Comrade Mfon Bassey for always remembering them.
They pleaded with him not to stop his good work so they could continue to feel the impact of Governor Umo Eno’s administration through him.
At the end of the gathering, the people passed a vote of confidence on Governor Umo Eno
They applauded him for his visionary leadership and for appointing two of their sons, Mkpisong Frank Archibong and Elder Paul Bassey as members of the State executive council.
