The Member, Umuahia Central State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Chinasa Anthony has reiterated his resolve to ease the burden of Enyiukwu women in Enyiukwu Autonomous Community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State through his largese of One Million Naira, which he said will revolve firstly among 20 women, for their small scale businesses.
“This is beyond politics or mere political rhetoric but out of genuine concern for the wellbeing of women, whose contributions to community development cannot be swept under the carpet. This empowerment scheme shall be a continuous process which shall be upgraded within the next coming year to about 30 or 40 women.”
Hon Chinasa Anthony, during the 2023 August meeting of Enyiukwu women further hinted that he shall ensure women participation in the affairs of the Umuahia Central State Constituency, adding that community development remains incomplete without the contributions of women.
A frontline community leader and Deputy Prime Minister of the Enyiukwu Autonomous Community and an expert in diaspora engagements, Lawrence Odoemelem hinted he identified with the women because of their contributions in society development, urging others who are yet to identify with other women to see the need to do so.
Mr Chinedum Nwoke,Youth President Enyiukwu Autonomous Community, Ohokobe Afara,Lolo Helen Ugomba Nwagwu all extolled the philanthropic gestures of Hon Chinasa Anthony while Ngozi Oronye and Blessing Ukaegbu prayed blessings on Chinasa Anthony’s endeavours, assuring they shall always identify with him in his political inroads, promising to support him all through.
