IKOT EKPENE UDO COMMUNITY TOWN HALL RECEIVES FACELIFT UNDER AK-CARES PROGRAMM

As part of the ongoing Akwa Ibom State Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (AK-CARES) Programme, the Town Hall, of Ikot Ekpene Udo Community in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, has been given a facelift.

In a ceremony held on August 21, 2024, the newly renovated Town Hall was officially handed over to the community. The renovation was part of the ongoing AK-CARES Programme, aimed at uplifting communities across Akwa Ibom State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development and Chairman of the State CARES Steering Committee, Mr. Emem Bob Almond, handed over the renovated building to the Village Head, Eteidung Udousoro Usoro. In his remarks, Mr. Bob expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his unwavering support to the AK-CARES initiative. He commended Ikot Ekpene Udo community for their cooperation, and urged them to ensure the proper maintenance of the new facilities, while assuring them that more projects would be implemented in the area.

Eteidung Udousoro Usoro, on behalf of the Village Council, expressed heartfelt thanks to God for blessing Akwa Ibom with a Governor who leads with divine wisdom. He also extended his appreciation to the Commissioner and the AK-CARES team for choosing his community as a beneficiary of this important project.

The event featured goodwill messages from representatives of the Village Council, Women, and Youth, reflecting the community’s collective gratitude and commitment to utilizing the renovated town hall effectively. The ceremony’s high point was the formal handing over of the Town Hall to the community.

Dignitaries at the event included members of the Ikot Ekpene Udo Village Council, Mrs Enobong Okpongkpong, Head of the AK-CARES Coordinating Unit, and Mr. Martins Umo, Acting General Manager of the Akwa Ibom State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), among others.
