NO GOOD DEEDS SHALL GO UNREWARDED

By Ubong Creativity David

Two months ago, while acknowledging the positive contributions of some individuals to advance his ARISE Agenda Policy in the state, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, specifically mentioned a certain family in ONNA local government area who donated part of their land for the construction of Arise Compassionate Home for their neighbour whose land was not sufficient enough for the construction of the bungalow.

According to the Governor, report has it that the family of Elder and Mrs Sampson Prince Udoh, that donated part of their land for Arise Compassionate Home to be built for their neighbour, are living in a dilapidated structure whose roof was leaking and totally worn out. The Governor said that it is a rarity for someone that has not benefitted from any government program to donate part of their land for a house to be built for their neighbour. Inspired by their gesture, the Governor said he has directed for a 3 bedroom bungalow to be built for that family, promising he will personally visited them to appreciate their humane gesture and to encourage others Akwa Ibom people to embrace neighborliness and promote the Akwa Ibom spirit.

Today, the Governor fulfilled his promise by not only built a new house for the family of Elder and Mrs Sampson Prince Udoh, but also visited them and have a brief session with them in their well furnished new home. What could be so rewarding for a family who never expected for their dilapidated building to be roof but suddenly moved into a newly constructed and well furnished home, courtesy of Governor Umo Eno?

The moral lesson here is that: No matter what good you do for people, by and large, that gesture will be rewarded. You may feel your effort is not acknowledged and appreciated, one day, God will reward you for the good deeds you have done for others. Today was Elder and Mrs Sampson Prince Udoh turn, tomorrow will be your turn. Don’t be tired of doing good for others. One day, you will have a date with destiny.
