Rep. Martins Esin Chairs Opening Session at 2024 National Children Leadership Conference, Sponsors Five Students from Oron Federal Constituency

In an effort to inspire future leaders as detailed in his RIDE agenda, Rep. Martins Esin, the Member representing Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko Federal Constituency, has sponsored five outstanding secondary school students from his constituency to participate in the 2024 National Children Leadership Conference in Abuja.

The 5-day event, organized by the Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV), began on Monday in the Federal Capital Territory.
Among the students selected from various local government areas within the constituency and flown to Abuja on Sunday to attend the conference were Promise Effiong Bassey (16), Treasure Okon Bassey (13), Vitalis Christopher (13), Mercy Edet Charley (13), and Michael Umoh (14).

At the opening session of the conference on Monday, Rep. Esin, who also serves as the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development, delivered an inspiring address as he chaired the session.
Speaking on the theme, “Self-Awareness and Self-Belief: Recognizing Your Strengths, Weaknesses, Values, and Beliefs in Shaping Your Future as a Leader,” Esin urged the young participants to embrace self-discovery as a foundation for effective leadership.
“True leadership starts with understanding oneself. By recognizing your strengths and weaknesses and staying committed to your values, you lay the groundwork for a life of impactful service,” Esin emphasized.
