The Abia State House of Assembly has expressed dissatisfaction over the death of Miss Vivian Ocheze, a crane operator with Inner Galaxy Steel Company operating in Ukwa West State Constituency and has vowed to bring the perpetrator to book.
This followed a Matter of Urgent Public Importance presented by the Member, Ukwa West State House, Hon Godwin Adiele over what he described as barbaric massacre of one Miss Vivian Ocheze who was pushed down from a crane whose height was said to be same with a 3-storey building, for refusing immoral advances said to be made by a Chinese expatriate working with same Inner Galaxy Steel Company.
Hon Adiele further hinted that the death of Ocheze which occured on the spot spiralled to to the demise of one Mr Chimaobi Dikeji on the orders of same Chinese expatriate, for expressing sadness over the murder of his colleague.
The Ukwa West Lawmaker said his Constituents, though law-abiding and hospitable cannot be strangulated or outrightly murdered in their own land and prayed for a full investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the murderous act.
Contributing, Member Umuahia Central State Constituency, Hon Chinasa Anthony among others said the Inner Galaxy Steel Company should be sealed with immediate effect and called on his colleagues to consider legislation for the purpose of looking into the activities of these expatriate companies if non was in existence.
Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa, resolved that the Committee on Public Petition investigate the matter and report back in ample time to enable the House know the next Legislative line of action and also condemned the dastardly act.
