The Senator representing Akwa Ibom South in the National Assembly, Senator Ekong Sampson has received high commendations from the People’s Democratic Party State EXCO Members of Akwa Ibom South extraction for his effective representation in the Senate.
Senator Sampson was given the party’s laudation earlier today, when he played host to the State Officers of the PDP from Akwa Ibom South in a New Year parley, which took place at the William Shakespeare Hall, Watbridge Hotels, Uyo.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Harrison Ekpo, State Deputy Chairman of the PDP said that the Party was well abreast with Sampson’s outing in the Red Chamber and was very proud of his representation.
Also speaking, the Senatorial District Chairman of the Party, Barr. Ekpung Edemumoh hailed Senator Sampson for being a loyal party man, who has not only been a good ambassador of the Party in the National Assembly, but also contributed immensely to the PDP at the grassroots, state and national levels.
It would be recalled that the Onomkpoinam Mkpat Enin was very instrumental to the building of the PDP Permanent Secretariat in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, where he gave money for the purchase of the land, and supported the construction all way through.
In his remarks, Senator Sampson expressed appreciation the Party for the support that he has enjoyed, pledging continued loyalty and commitment to the Umbrella.
The Lawmaker hinted that moves were underway to reposition the Party in the country for greater effectiveness and result. Sampson promised to continue to liaise and compare notes with the Party from time to time, while acknowledging that multi-party politics remained the bedrock of democracy.
It is worth recalling that over the Christmas, Senator Ekong Sampson had equally met with all the Chapter Chairmen of the PDP from Akwa Ibom South. He has also been meeting with critical segments of the Party in Akwa Ibom South, and has enjoyed commendations across board for his focused and impactful representation.
Others present at today’s meeting were the State Assistant Secretary & Senatorial District Secretary, Rt Hon. Anietie Sunday, State Organizing Secretary, Obongiwaad Emman Mbong, Senatorial District Youth Leader, Dr. Ben Edenseting, Elder Lawson Ukim, Obonganwan Sarah Ekwo, among other officers.
