Senator Ekong Sampson Receives Mkpat Enin Unity Network

Group Lauds Akwa Ibom South Stakeholders for Endorsing Onomkpoinam Mkpat Enin for Second Term, Reaffirms Support for Gov Umo Eno
The Distinguished Senator Ekong Sampson, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, played host to one of foremost socio-political bodies in Mkpat Enin LGA, Mkpat Enin Unity Network, in a well-attended 2025 Interactive Session with the Parliamentarian in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Senator, while highly commending the leaders and the entire membership of the organization for working with others to give him the much needed support, urged them to remain steadfast in their unwavering support for him and the state Governor, Pst. Umo Eno.
However, he urged the people to imbibe the philosophy of moving from mere supporters to believers so as to consolidate on their support base. He maintained that mere followers can shift alliance, but that believers are steadfast and forge stronger partnership, thus, the need to move from supporters to believers.
Senator Sampson, who chairs the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals Development, expressed appreciation to major stakeholders in Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District for loudly applauding his visible and impactful representation in the Senate.
While calling on the group to continue in their unwavering support for the Council Chairman, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang, the Onomkpoinam Mkpat Enin charged the TPL Akpabio Ufot-Akpabio-led body to always toe the path of truth and equity in their engagements in the socio-political spaces of Mkpat Enin and beyond.
In his address earlier in the meeting, the National Coordinator of the network, TPL Akpabio Ufot-Akpabio, sounded appreciation for Senator Sampson’s “impactful performance so far in the Upper Chamber” of the National Assembly.
“You’ve vindicated us and proved the cynics of our vision wrong by becoming one of the top ranking Senator’s that ever emerged from our state, despite being a first-timer in the National Assembly. We applaud you for this huge feat, Sir.
“We have noted with delight and satisfaction your unique way of spreading projects across the Senatorial District and the way you have constantly helped and still helping people and groups to excel in various ways. This is in fulfillment of your promise of always giving back to the people in line with your ‘e work, e chop’ principle,” he said.
While sounding their total support for the stand of the elders and stakeholders of the district on the need for the Assemblyman to represent Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District beyond 2027, he appealed to Senator Ekong Sampson to further position the group to make it more visible in the state and national political terrain by way of empowering members of the body, and fixing members in government settings within and outside Akwa Ibom State.
Recall that Mkpat Enin Unity Network is one of the earliest socio-political groups in Mkpat Enin that stoutly drummed up support for Gov. Umo Eno’s emergence.
In their separate comments and remarks, Mkpat Enin PDP Chapter Chairman, Mr. Isaiah Lawrence, former TC Vice Chairman, Hon. Eno Ekanem, Dr. Uduak Udoh, Hon. Odiong Ekiko, Mr. Udeme Umoh, Mr. Joe Akpan and others corroborated their applause to Senator Sampson for lifting their statuses through employment and other forms of financial and mentorship supports.
