–Recalls How He Worked With the Deceased to Bring UBA to Mkpat Enin.
Senator Ekong Sampson paid a condolence visit on the family of late Barr. Ben Udowa yesterday, Monday, December 23, at their residence in Eket.
The Senator who visited in company of his entourage was visibly moved by the sudden passing away of the late Mkpat Enin business mogul amidst a host of other sympathizers who thronged the residence.
Ekong Sampson who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, was received alongside his entourage by the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Lydia Udowa and his brother-in-law, Mr. Samuel Ikpe.
Senator Sampson described the sad occurence as “most shocking,” adding that, “the late Udowa whose love and interest for Mkpat Enin led to our collaboration to bring a cash office of UBA to Mkpat Enin. Barr. Ben Udowa was loved by all.”
Also recalling late political figure’s brotherly disposition during last year’s party primary, which he (Senator Ekong Sampson) won, making available his hotel facility to use for his (Senator’s) general elections campaigns, he therefore assured the bereaved family that he would continue to be there for them.
Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, Mr. Samuel Ikpe expressed deep appreciation and consolation over Senator Sampson’s visit. He thus prayed for God’s divine guidance as he continues to represent Eket Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
It could be recalled that late Barr. Ben Udowa, who was an accomplished legal practitioner and consummate accounting professional, passed on last weekend in Eket. He hailed from Ikot Ekop in Mkpat Enin LGA.
