Ward 7 Central Resolves to Strengthen PDP ahead of LG Poll

Political stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from Ward 7 Central in Eket local government area, have reiterated their commitment to strengthen party structures in the ward ahead of the October 2024 Local Government Elections in Akwa Ibom State.

They also resolved to breach any existing gap between different camps in the just concluded party primaries and nominations, stressing that the interest of the ward should supercede parochial interest.

These decisions were taken at a Unit by Unit stakeholders meeting presided by the Deputy Political Leader of the ward, Barr. Gabriel Fan, at the instance of the Political Leader of Ward 7 Central, Apostle Sunny Akpadiaha.

Setting the tone for the discussion, Barr. Fan said PDP in Ward 7 Central is a united and indivisible entity, calling on all to join hands to chart a new cause for the party and vote all PDP candidates at the upcoming local government elections.

He noted that there are some misinformation and innuendos circulated by anti-progressive elements to cause division among the people, describing such behaviors as antithetical to democratic tenets and development.

Fan, maintained that what played out at the party primaries and congresses is not far from the norm, advising politicians who aspire for any political office to always have it in mind that it is either they win or lose, which is the norm globally.

He emphasized the need for the political class to show of sportsmanship in every political contest, calling on all who may have been offended in one way or the other, to join hands to build a strong PDP that we will all be proud of, assuring equal opportunity for all.

In their separate remarks, the Personal Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Ubong Creativity David, Ward PA, Comfort Adiambuk, Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Itohowo Ebito, former Leader Eket Legislative Council, Hon Bassey Akpan Ekpo, immediate past Councillor, Hon. Smith Udo Johnny, newly elected Ward Chairman, Anietie Eyoh, elected Ward Secretary, Kufre Edward, Ward Elder, Samuel Idiok, outgoing Ward Secretary, Samuel Udongo, among others, pledged to work for the victory of PDP at the poll.

They beckoned on all to jettison sentiments but work together in one accord for the interest of the party, promising to take the message to their respective units and families.

Creativity, emphasized the need to bring back members who went for political experimentation in other political parties so as to strengthen the party at the ward level for future elections.
